After operating a successful independent DJ company for over two decades, it wasn't  only Party Time, but Website Time for this Atlanta DJ! For this DJ's first website, they chose a Dreamweaver design.

For DJs that have been around a while and have had plenty of success with traditional advertising and word of mouth, it's sometimes hard to come to the realization that it's not an option to have a website anymore, it's an absolute necessity. Hardly anyone uses the phone book anymore, so how does a seasoned DJ reach new clientele? Via the Internet of course!

This Atlanta DJ services all events and is one of a rare breed that not only loves being a disc jockey, but has a passion for entertaining and the ability to provide genuinely friendly and fun entertainment and for diverse Atlanta weddings, parties and events. Beyond a wedding expert, this DJ offers unique and specialized DJ services for a variety of events from kids parties to corporate events.

I actually found a Dreamweaver template that was originally designed for an event planner to begin with, which worked perfectly because this DJ wanted to highlight all of the unique services he offered including catering and planning.

The biggest challenge for me as a web designer, was creating something from nothing... This DJ had left the project entirely up to me. They had no existing promotional materials, photos, or ad-copy. There was no company color scheme to copy, or logos to mimic. The complete creation was left up to me, so using a few bits of information provided to me by the DJ, I began putting a digital face to their twenty plus year old business.

Some other design elements worth mentioning, are the royalty license photos used throughout the site in abundance, as well as a Flash movie with sound that plays automatically. While I don't recommend Flash sites, and sometimes even the smallest Flash movie can cause usability issues, I think this one at just 46K will be fast loading and add life to an otherwise static site.
